Bache Gabrielsen – American Oak VSOP Cognac
Our "American Oak" is the first cognac ever aged in American oak barrels. This innovative cognac is the result of a double maturation: aging of several years in French oak casks combined with a minimum of six months in new American oak casks.
The wood is imported from Tennessee and the barrels are made according to criteria established by our Maître de Chai, in partnership with a local cooperage in Cognac.
The aromatic power of American oak gives this cognac a very distinct character, with delicate aromas of exotic fruits such as coconut and pineapple, which subtly combine with notes of vanilla and cocoa from French oak.
The end result is a fruity cognac and very greedy.

It is in this state of mind that gabrielsen has developed "american oak", the first cognac ever aged in American oak. "- hervé bache-gabrielsen, CEO and 4th generation bache-gabrielsen [...]
