Cognac d'Aincourt, meets elegance!

Interview with Vincent Norguet, Director of Aincourt Cognacs

D'AINCOURT is a new brand of very Premium Cognac, can you tell us about its genesis?
D'AINCOURT is a 6-handed score between a passionate Hors d'Âge Cognac enthusiast, a renowned designer and a producer-distiller established in the heart of the Cognac region since 1848.
Driven by the passion and love of exceptional Cognacs, it took us 2 years to develop our Collection of 3 Cognacs and develop our decanters in the tradition of French know-how.
Our aim is to enhance the value of very rare Cognacs through a decanter that expresses the elegance and power of Hors d'Âge eaux-de-vie, in a spirit of authenticity.
I was able to discover your cognacs at the Prowein-Dusseldorf exhibition and it can be said that you were a huge success! How do you explain that?
D'AINCOURT is indeed a real success because although the brand is recent, it is based on the excellence of our Cognacs, bold packaging and a strong family history.
Through D'AINCOURT we wanted to pay tribute to the values of courage and loyalty of the Empire generals, and more particularly to our ancestor the Marquis de Caulaincourt, Grand Squire of Napoleon 1st and French Ambassador to Russia in the 19th century.
In reference to the warlike epics of these great men of history, the coat of arms of AINCOURT is adorned with the empire grenade that adorned their military uniforms.
Our three exceptional eaux-de-vie express their character in a unique bottle. Its design was entrusted to the famous French designer Patrick Norguet, who designed a masculine and timeless reinterpretation of an original and authentic bottle of Cognac for D'AINCOURT.

Made by a French artisanal glassware, the traditional techniques used by the master glassmakers make each AINCOURT decanter a unique piece. Discovering the D'AINCOURT collection means feeling the pure emotion that a beautiful object brings.

How do AINCOURT Cognacs differ from other Cognacs?
Not being from the region, I bring a new and external perspective, as a lover of old brandies, in a concern of respect and humility towards the work required to produce an exceptional Cognac. D'AINCOURT differs both in the original bottle and in the style of our Cognacs, which combine roundness and aromatic power. Because today Cognac is no longer consumed in the same way, the AINCOURT Cognac Collection is aimed at resolutely modern connoisseurs: the first step in a new attitude that combines this universe of know-how and tradition with the impertinence of renewed codes.

You offer a very beautiful range of Cognacs, for when, for which consumers?
The AINCOURT Collection includes 3 "Hors d'Âge" Cognacs for different moments of consumption:
D'AINCOURT Rare XO, Grande Champagne: a blend of 10 eaux-de-vie, aged from 20 to 50 years and aged in Limousin oak barrels, they have been selected for their rarity and elegance. A real gateway to the unique discovery of Hors d'Âge Cognacs.
D'AINCOURT EXTRA, Grande Champagne: a blend of 12 exceptional eaux-de-vie, aged for several decades in oak barrels. Aged from 25 to 70 years old, they have been selected for their finesse and aromatic power, and will enhance a starry dinner.
D'AINCOURT 1st CRU, Limited Edition: a blend of very old and rare century-old Eaux-de-vie, all from Grande Champagne, the first growth of Cognac. They have been selected for the roundness of their texture, as well as for the harmony, power and elegance of their aromatic notes.
This exceptional Cognac is an invitation to contemplation, a real conquest of the senses for connoisseurs of great Cognacs and cigar lovers.

Decked out in its black lacquered carafe, and in its luxury lacquered wooden box, D'AINCOURT Cognac 1er Cru is available in only 198 bottles for the world.
What are your plans for 2015?
Our projects for 2015 are above all to consolidate and develop at our own pace the countries where our AINCOURT Cognacs are distributed. But in parallel, we are already working on a new assembly that we will propose in 2016.
