Cognac, king of the evening at the Fontbedeau Cellar
The Cave de Saint-Sulpice-de-Royan is organising a tasting evening tomorrow around A.E. DOR cognac.
This company, which also operates in the luxury sector, has a stock of old eaux-de-vie, these excellent products being marketed in more than 28 countries. In France, this exceptional cognac is presented for tasting in the most prestigious restaurants, hotels or cellars, such as George V, Apicius, Lafayette Gourmet, Plaza Athénée or Hédiard.
During this evening, a visit to the pineau cellars will be offered at 7pm. Visitors will discover one of the most impressive storage facilities with its large capacity casks - up to 76,000 litres - and hundreds of barrels. At 7:30 p.m., an exceptional cognac tasting will be served with a presentation of gastronomic dishes from the same A.E. DOR company. The evening will be hosted by Director Pierre-Antoine Rivière (1).
As for the Océalia group, its wine sector includes 1,250 winegrowers, four cooperative cellars (Archiac, Saint-Sornin, Siecq and Fontbedeau), 27 operating advisors, a distillery and storage cellars and, finally, Unicognac and A.E. DOR, two subsidiaries for bottling and marketing wines, pineau des Charentes and cognac.
This is a strong signal to winegrower members, which testifies to the group's desire to pursue the development of the winegrowing sector. The leading player in the vinification of Charente local wines, third in Charente pineau, and with 1.7 million cognac bottles, the Océalia cooperative group has 7,200 active members and 904 employees. The diversity of its activities (field crops, viticulture, animal husbandry, garden centres, transport, animal feed, manufacture and marketing of popcorn, bottling and marketing of wines, cognac and pineau des Charentes) makes it a leading player in its territory in Charente, Charente-Maritime, Dordogne, Vienne and Deux-Sèvres, with sales of €531 million.
