J.A. Renault unveils Hourglass Age du Temps in Cognac.
Since its creation in 1835, the House of J.A. Renault has always been committed to offering the most accomplished cognacs. For certain blends, only time can bring the intense aromas sought after: this is what "Hourglass - Age du Temps" embodies, in homage to the long years of ageing that go into making this unique cognac.
The House of J.A. Renault has selected an eau-de-vie from Grande Champagne, distilled during the winter of 1950 in the village of Saint-Preuil, then aged for sixty years in oak barrels. Since 2010, it has been kept in "dame-jeanne" to preserve the ultimate balance of this cognac obtained by the effect of time.
Of rare intensity, "Hourglass - Age du Temps" reveals fruity aromas of prune, orange zest and mango; spicier scents of nutmeg and liquorice, and complex notes of leather, cedar wood and tobacco. This cognac has a strength of 41.2% vol.
La Part des Anges, the largest spirits auction in the world, celebrates its tenth anniversary on 22 September in Cognac. In this anniversary edition, and on the occasion of its first participation, the House J.A Renault
will present "Hourglass - Age of Time" in a unique bottle. The bottle, whose design is inspired by the shape of an hourglass, is highlighted by an oak casing, topped with a Macassar ebony cap; the whole is thought of as a work of art, where the cognac is sublimated.
The estimated price of this exceptional and original creation, the first in a series of seven numbered copies designed by J.A. Renault, is set at 4,000 euros.
For this anniversary edition, the gala evening organized on 22 September by the Cognac interprofession (BNIC) will take place in a new venue in the heart of Cognac and on the banks of the Charente.
Its illustrious sponsors (this year Guy Savoy) and its prestigious partnerships (the Artcurial auction house, for the first time) make La Part des Anges the unmissable event for cognac collectors and the most popular charity spirits sale in the world. Since 2006, La Part des Anges has supported some fifteen charitable projects in the fields of employment, education, heritage and social issues in France.
