Rémi Landier Extra Tradition Cognac : the result of a blend of old Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie inherited from Ernest Aubineau's grandfather and rare Fins Bois from the estate, Rémi Landier Extra is a very limited edition. Aged for at least 30 years in red oak barrels, it is a Cognac marked by fruity notes, sweet spices (cardamom and cinnamon) and tobacco.
Tasting notes :
Appearance: amber with coppery highlights.
Nose: elegant, it opens with notes of precious woods, citrus fruits (kumquat, pink grapefruit, bitter orange) and vine peach. It evolves on notes of caramelized apricot, eucalyptus honey, liquorice and sage. The floral notes gradually settle into the glass.
Palate: powerful and complex, it takes up the melody of the nose in a less plant-like but more honeyed variation, not to say pastry like Paris Brest (almond, choux pastry, whipped cream).
Overall: very long and complex, both fruity and floral, woody and spicy.
